Hey guy, this Heather from healthyeatingstartshere.com. Today, I want to share to you something that you probably wouldn’t know about me. That is I don’t actually like cooking – yes I have a website of healthy vegan recipes, but if you’ve given me a choice on what to do with my afternoon, cooking is not at the top of the list. Now, the reason I cook is I’m really particular about the foods I want to eat and how I want them prepared. I started to notice over the last few years, as I got into a more and more healthy diet, is that the foods I eat directly affects how I feel. So, I know that if, let say, if I eat a piece of chocolate at 9 o’clock at night, I’m not going to sleep well. My digestion is going to be off, I’m going to wake up in the morning and feel groggy, and I don’t want to do anything, so the chocolate – really not that tempting anymore. It’s not that I’m restricting myself, I know that I can have a treat whenever I want one, and there’s nothing wrong with having treats – don’t get me wrong. But, the short term, is not worth it for me anymore. I’m aware of those long term consequences, so it doesn’t seem to be as much of a treat. Now, if you take a healthy diet plan too seriously, then you can start to feel deprived and that’s not good, that’s not what I’m talking about. What I’m talking about is being aware of what’s going on with your own body, so you can make choices that make you feel good, that make you feel energize, and that make you feel healthy. Living in a state o deprivation is not a good way to live, so definitely don’t do that. Now, one thing that can get in the way of listening to your body’s messages is when you get the cravings. This can be like a psychological thing - it can be a habit, or an addiction, or whatever. It can also be your body is out of balance. In order for to get rid of all of those cravings for good, is make sure that your body is back in balance, and then you’ll be able to listen to these messages and you wont get the wrong kind of cues. I’m really excited because I’m working on the finishing touches of something that’s going to help you guys in finding your own balance, and getting back to that so that you can listen to your own body. I’ll be posting more info in the next few weeks, so if you want more info on that, stay tuned. In the meantime, cooking is not my favorite activity, I don’t think of it as an art form or something like that. But what I do like, and what motivates me to cooks is thinking about the foods that are going to energize me, and energize Phil, make us healthy and happy. I love to share that with you guys, which is why I post recipes at healthyveganrecipes.net. I want to know from you, what motivates you to cook, and if you don’t have the motivation, what’s getting on your way. Let me know, leave me a comment.
